The Cupan languages are a branch of the Uto-Aztecan family within Northern Uto-Aztecan, historically spoken in southern California, with their relationship to the broader Takic subgroup disputed. The branch comprises Cupeno, Cahuilla, Luiseno-Juaneno and possibly the poorly attested Nicoleno; only Cahuilla retains speakers, with Cupeno and Luiseno-Juaneno now extinct.
