Indo-European: Romance and Italic Branch

Italic is the branch of Indo-European that produced Latin, and Romance is the family of languages descended from spoken Latin, comprising the Ibero-Romance languages, Spanish, Portuguese, Catalan, the Gallo-Romance languages, French, Occitan, the Italo-Dalmatian languages, Italian and its relatives, Romanian and the other Eastern Romance languages, and a scatter of smaller and extinct varieties across the former Roman world. This child group, under Indo-European Branches, holds every Eurasian Language Families member whose sourced description identifies it as Italic, Romance or a named Romance sub-branch, making it the largest of the eight Indo-European children by simple weight of the family's own internal diversity.
