Indo-European: Indo-Iranian Branch

Indo-Iranian is the largest single branch of Indo-European by number of speakers, comprising the Indo-Aryan languages of the Indian subcontinent, Hindi, Bengali and dozens of others, the Iranian languages of Iran, Afghanistan and Central Asia, Persian, Pashto, Kurdish and their relatives, ancient and modern, and the smaller Nuristani and Dardic groups of the Hindu Kush that are sometimes classified as an independent third branch. This child group, under Indo-European Branches, holds every Eurasian Language Families member whose sourced description identifies it as Indo-Iranian, Indo-Aryan, Iranian, Nuristani or Dardic, or as a named branch within any of them.
