Afroasiatic: Cushitic and Omotic

This group collects members of the Cushitic and Omotic branches of the Afroasiatic family, both concentrated in the Horn of Africa and southwestern Ethiopia, including Oromo and Somali among the Cushitic languages and the Gonga (Kefoid) languages among the Omotic. The two branches are grouped together here on the same basis the report itself proposes, since Omotic is sometimes analyzed in the literature as a divergent subset of Cushitic rather than a fully independent branch. Placement follows each member's own description naming it Cushitic or Omotic.
