The Macro-Somali, or Somaloid, languages, also called the Sam languages, are a branch of the Lowland East Cushitic languages. They are spoken in Somalia, Djibouti, Somaliland, eastern Ethiopia and northern Kenya. The most widely spoken member is Somali.
