Relation Types

The closed vocabulary of relationships this atlas is allowed to record between two entities: Descends From linking a dialect to its parent language or a language to its family, In Family linking one family to a broader one, Influenced linking a linguist's work to a later school of thought, and the handful of others this atlas's own graph is built from. A relation type is deliberately closed rather than free text, so every edge in this atlas's graph means the same specific thing wherever a reader encounters it.
