A residual African bucket combining three genealogically distinct groups because each is represented by only one or two live entities in this atlas: the non-Semitic Afro-Asiatic branches (Berber Languages, Ancient Egyptian and its later stage Coptic, the Chadic language Hausa, and the Cushitic languages Oromo and Somali), the Nilo-Saharan family (Zarma), and the Khoisan family (Khoekhoe). Grouping them together is a browsing convenience, not a genetic claim. Does not belong here: a Semitic language, grouped under Semitic Languages, or a Niger-Congo language, grouped under Bantu Languages or Other Niger-Congo Languages; despite all being African, these are separate families with no closer relation to this bucket's members than to each other.
