The Chinantec or Chinantecan languages constitute a branch of the Oto-Manguean family. Though traditionally considered a single language, Ethnologue lists 14 partially mutually unintelligible varieties of Chinantec, spoken by the indigenous Chinantec people who live in Oaxaca and Veracruz, Mexico.
