Tupi-Guarani

South American Language Families

Tupi-Guarani is the most widely distributed subfamily of the Tupian languages of South America, consisting of about fifty languages, including Guarani and Old Tupi. Guarani, one of the two official languages of Paraguay, is by far the most widely spoken language of the subfamily in modern times.
