The Paresi-Waura languages, also called the Pareci-Xingu or Central Maipurean languages, are a branch of the Arawakan, or Maipurean, family spoken across the Bolivian and western Brazilian Amazon. Linguist Terrence Kaufman's 1994 classification divides the branch into a Paresi group of Paresi and Saraveca and a Waura group of Waura-Mehinaku, Yawalapiti and Kustenau, while more recent work by Alain Fabre and by Sidney Facundes and Ana Vilacy Brandao places Enawene Nawe in a subgroup with Paresi.
