The Northern Eastern Sudanic languages, also called Eastern k Sudanic, Ek Sudanic, NNT or Astaboran, may form a primary division of the proposed Eastern Sudanic family. They are characterized by a /k/ in the first person singular pronoun I/me, as opposed to the Southern Eastern Sudanic languages, which have an /n/. The Nyima languages have yet to be conclusively linked to the other languages in the family, and appear to be its closest relative rather than a member proper.
