The Fur, or Furan, languages constitute a small, closely related family proposed as a member of the Nilo-Saharan phylum. Its two members are Fur, spoken by around 745,600 people in western Sudan and eastern Chad as of 2004, and Amdang, also called Mimi, spoken by around 41,100 people in eastern Chad as of 2000.
