Dem, also recorded as Lem or Ndem, is a divergent Papuan language of West New Guinea. Its family placement is disputed: Malcolm Ross's 2005 classification tentatively grouped it within the Trans-New Guinea family and Timothy Usher ties it most closely to the Amung language, while a 2018 classification by Bill Palmer leaves it unclassified.
