The Bambukic languages, also called Trans-Benue or Yungur-Jen, are a proposed branch of the provisional Savanna languages within Niger-Congo, spoken in northeastern Nigeria, representing a reduced form of the old Waja-Jen branch of the Adamawa languages. The group comprises three divisions: Bikwin-Jen, including languages such as Dza, Mingang Doso, Tha, Joole, Burak-Loo, Maghdi, Mak, Moo, Leelau and Kyak; Bena-Mboi, or Yungur, including Kaan, Mboi and the Yungur-Roba subgroup of Lala-Roba, Voro and Bena; and Longuda as a separate member. Their unity is not accepted by Tom Guldemann's 2018 classification, and the Waja languages once included here are now placed with the Kam language.
