An areal browsing bucket, not a genetic family, covering eight independent language families of the Americas each represented by one or two live entities: Eskimo-Aleut (Greenlandic, Inuktitut), Na-Dene (Navajo), Uto-Aztecan (Nahuatl, Hopi), Mayan (Classic Maya), Iroquoian (Cherokee), Quechuan (Quechua), Aymaran (Aymara) and Tupian (Guarani). Does not belong here: a language of Papua New Guinea or Australia, grouped under Papuan and Australian Languages instead, on the same areal-bucket logic for a different continent.
