The Uralic-Yukaghir hypothesis, also called Uralo-Yukaghir, is a proposed language family that would join the Uralic languages with Yukaghir. Uralic is a large and diverse family spoken across northern and eastern Europe and northwestern Siberia, including Finnish, Estonian and Hungarian among its better-known members, while Yukaghir is a small family spoken in eastern Siberia that once covered a much wider area and today survives as two languages, Tundra Yukaghir and Kolyma Yukaghir. The proposed link between the two families remains a hypothesis rather than an established genetic relationship.
