Indo-European: Hellenic Branch

Hellenic is the branch of Indo-European whose only surviving member is Greek, but the branch's internal history includes several extinct or poorly attested ancient varieties, Mycenaean Greek, Ancient Macedonian and a scatter of regional dialects, whose exact relationship to the mainstream of ancient Greek is debated. This child group, under Indo-European Branches, holds every Eurasian Language Families member whose sourced description identifies it as Hellenic, Greek or a named ancient Greek-adjacent variety classified within the branch.
