Yugambeh-Bundjalung languages

The Yugambeh-Bundjalung languages, also known as Bandjalangic, are a branch of the Pama-Nyungan family historically spoken as a dialect continuum across northeastern New South Wales and southeastern Queensland, Australia. The continuum is generally described as falling into four regional dialect clusters, including varieties known as Yugambeh, Githabul, Minyangbal and Bundjalung proper, with varying degrees of mutual intelligibility between neighboring groups. The languages are severely endangered: the 2021 Australian census recorded only around 670 people identifying as speakers of some form of the group, down from already small numbers in earlier counts, and UNESCO's Atlas of the World's Languages in Danger lists Bundjalung as severely endangered.
