Gudjal is a language of the Warrongo subgroup of the Maric branch, traditionally spoken across about 7,500 square miles of northern Queensland, Australia, straddling the Great Dividing Range near Charters Towers. The Gudjal people today number possibly under 100, and historical documentation of the language proved too sparse to reconstruct on its own, so a revitalization program has drawn on surviving vocabulary from the closely related Gugu-Badhun language to rebuild communicative capacity.
