Panyjima is a Pama-Nyungan language of the Ngayarda branch, spoken by the Panyjima people of the Hamersley Range in the Pilbara region of Western Australia. The 2021 census recorded 140 native speakers, with younger generations increasingly speaking English as a first language. Like Martuthunira, Panyjima has accusative rather than ergative case alignment, and it maintains a distinct formal speech register called padupadu; alternate spellings of its name include Bandjima, Banjima and Panytyima.
