The Kanyara-Mantharta languages are a western branch of the Pama-Nyungan family of Australia, historically spoken around the North West Cape region of Western Australia. The branch divides into two groups by geography and lineage: Kanyara, comprising the closely related pairs Burduna-Bayungu and Thalanyji-Pinikura, occupied coastal country, while Mantharta, comprising Tharrgari, Warriyangka, Thiin and Jiwarli, was spoken further inland. All of the languages in the group are now extinct or moribund, and the family as a whole lacks a Glottolog classification code, reflecting how thinly documented this corner of Pama-Nyungan remains compared to better-recorded neighboring branches.
