Kurdish is a Northwestern Iranian language, or group of closely related languages, spoken by Kurds across the region of Kurdistan, namely southeastern Turkey, northern Iraq, northwestern Iran, and northern Syria, with additional speaker communities in northeastern Iran and parts of Armenia and Azerbaijan.
