Script Family (Lineage)

Script family groups writing systems by their shared line of descent. Wikipedia describes the Latin script as "based on the letters of the classical Latin alphabet, derived from a form of the Greek alphabet," placing it in the same broad family as Greek, Cyrillic and Coptic. This dimension lets a visitor compare scripts that trace back to the same ancestral writing system.
