Sabanê is one of the three major branches of the Nambikwaran language family. Its speakers were historically located in the extreme north of Nambikwara territory, in the Rondônia and Mato Grosso states of western Brazil, between the Tenente Marques and Juruena rivers; most members of the group are now found in the Pyreneus de Souza Indigenous Territory in Rondônia.
