Madi language

Madi, also known as Jamamadi after one of its dialects, and also called Kapana or Kanamanti, is an Arawan language spoken by about 1,080 people across the Jamamadi, Banawa and Jarawara indigenous groups of Brazil's Amazonas state. Its three named varieties, Jamamadi, Jarawara and Banawa, share about 95 percent of their vocabulary and remain mutually intelligible, though each corresponds to a distinct tribal group with its own dwindling number of speakers, roughly 250, 170 and 120 respectively.
