Munichi

Munichi, also spelled Muniche, was a language of the Peruvian Amazon, spoken around the village of Munichis near Yurimaguas in Peru's Loreto region. It belonged to no known language family, though its pronominal suffixes show some resemblance to those of the Arawakan languages, a similarity not considered sufficient to establish a genetic relationship. The language had become moribund by the 1930s and its decline continued through the twentieth century, with its last known fully fluent speaker, Victoria Huancho Icahuate, dying in the late 1990s, and as of the early 2020s only one or two elderly semi-speakers with partial knowledge were reported to survive.
