Huon languages

The Huon languages are a language family spoken on the Huon Peninsula of Papua New Guinea, classified within the original Trans-New Guinea proposal, whose membership in that larger family William A. Foley considers established. They share with the neighboring Finisterre languages a small closed class of verbs taking pronominal object prefixes, some of them cognate across both families, which Suter identified in 2012 as strong morphological evidence that the two families are related.
