The Monde languages are a branch of the Tupian family spoken in the Mamore-Guapore linguistic area of western Brazil. The group includes the Cinta Larga dialect cluster of roughly a thousand speakers along with Monde, Aruashi, Suruí, Zoro and Gaviao do Jiparana, and several member languages, including Kabanae and Matanau, are now extinct, known only from word lists collected by the naturalist Johann Natterer in 1829.
