Paezan, also spelled Paesan or Interandine, names several hypothetical or now-obsolete proposals grouping languages of Colombia and Ecuador around the Paez language. Several of the historical Paezan proposals rested on a misinterpreted Moguex vocabulary that conflated Paez with the unrelated Guambiano language; Paez itself is now generally treated as a language isolate or the sole surviving member of an otherwise extinct family.
