Facts
RegionNorthern coast of Papua province, Indonesia, from the Sarmi coast to Jayapura Bay; with the exception of certain Micronesian languages, these are the westernmost of all Oceanic languages. 1 Proto-Language StatusNo unified proto-language has been published for the whole family. Grace (1971) published sound correspondences for the Sarmi languages, and Ross (1988) treated the Sarmi group and the Jayapura Bay group (Kayupulau, Ormu and Tobati) as related but separate rather than reconstructing one shared proto-language. 1 Connections

How many speakers do the Sarmi-Jayapura languages total today?
The six constituent languages (Sobei, Bonggo, Tarpia, Kayupulau, Ormu, Tobati-Enggros) are each counted individually in the sources; no single family-wide total was found this pass, and no figure at all was located for Kayupulau.
What would resolve this A published survey giving comparable, similarly dated speaker figures for all six languages, including Kayupulau.
