Northeastern Kuki-Chin languages

Northeastern Kuki-Chin, formerly called Northern Kuki-Chin before being renamed to distinguish it from the separate Northwestern Kuki-Chin languages, is a branch of the Kuki-Chin languages within the Kuki-Chin-Naga group of Tibeto-Burman, spoken in northern Chin State, Myanmar, and in Northeast India, most notably Manipur. The branch comprises eleven languages, including Thado, also called Kuki, Tedim, Paite, Gangte, Simte, Chiru, Sizang, Ralte, Vaiphei, Zou and Ngawn; Tedim serves as the local lingua franca of northern Chin State, while Thadou serves as the lingua franca of most non-Naga areas of Manipur.
