The Central Naga languages, also called the Ao languages, are a small family of Sino-Tibetan languages spoken by various Naga peoples of Nagaland in northeast India, with around 607,000 speakers in total. Although conventionally grouped under the broader Naga label, they are not clearly related to the other Naga language groups and are conservatively classified as an independent branch of Sino-Tibetan pending further research.
