The Old Chiangmai-Bangkok Sign Language family is a language family of two related sign languages, Old Chiangmai Sign Language and Old Bangkok Sign Language, which the researcher Woodward found in 2003 to share 65 percent cognate vocabulary, indicating a genuine relationship likely arising from migration between the two Thai cities. Possible further connections have been noted to sign languages of Vietnam, especially Hai Phong Sign Language, and possibly to Laotian sign languages, though it remains unclear whether these wider links are the result of common descent or of areal contact.
