Iranian Sign Language (ISL), also called Farsi Sign Language, Persian Sign Language or Zaban Eshareh Irani, is the sign language used by deaf and hard-of-hearing people in Iran. It is a true sign language, distinct from the Baghcheban phonetic hand alphabet, which is a form of cued speech rather than a sign language in its own right.
