Indo-Pakistani Sign Language is the predominant sign language of the Indian subcontinent of South Asia, used by an estimated at least 15 million deaf signers. Exact numbers are difficult to establish because the Census of India does not list sign languages and most research has focused on northern and urban areas, but as of 2024 it was considered the most used sign language in the world, ranked by Ethnologue as the 149th most spoken language of any kind.
