The Asmat-Kamrau Bay languages are a family of roughly a dozen Trans-New Guinea languages spoken by the Asmat and related peoples along the southern coast of Western New Guinea, Indonesia, and around Kamrau Bay. The family divides into the Kamrau Bay branch, comprising Buruwai, North Kamberau and South Kamberau, and the Asmat-Kamoro branch, comprising Kamoro, Sempan and the several Asmat languages; the languages show minimal internal differentiation, suggesting a comparatively recent expansion along the south coast.
