The Lawu, or Lawoish, languages are a proposed branch of the Loloish languages comprising Lawu, Awu and Lewu, with internal classification within Loloish uncertain: the group may form a branch of Central Loloish or stand as an independent branch. The linguist Cathryn Yang's 2012 study suggests Lawu is most likely a Central Ngwi language but does not classify with Lalo, Lahu, or the Lisoid languages.
