Greater Siangic is a proposed language family put forward by Roger Blench in 2014, spoken in Arunachal Pradesh, northeast India, and encompassing three groupings: the Siangic languages proper, Koro and Milang, the Digaro languages, Idu Mishmi and Taraon, and a hypothetical Pre-Tani substrate branch. Blench argues the grouping, based on shared lexical items identified by Modi in 2013, forms an independent language family that has undergone areal influence from Sino-Tibetan languages, rather than being a genuine Sino-Tibetan branch itself.
