Romanian Sign Language is the sign language used by deaf people in Romania. The country's first organization dedicated to people with hearing impairments, the Romanian Society of the Deaf-Mute, was established on November 9, 1919; it was succeeded by the Romanian Association of the Deaf-Mute in 1952 and later by the National Association of the Deaf from Romania.
