Central Neo-Aramaic is a group of Eastern Aramaic languages within the Semitic branch of Afro-Asiatic, occupying a position between the Western Neo-Aramaic and other Eastern Aramaic groups. It comprises two languages, the still-spoken Turoyo and the recently extinct Mlahso, historically centered on southeastern Turkey's Mardin and Diyarbakir provinces and northeastern Syria's Qamishli and al-Hasakah areas, with a significant diaspora community in Sweden.
