Language Isolates and Uncertain Classification

This group collects the Australian Language Families subcategory's genuine language isolates and meta-level or disputed classification proposals that do not fit one of this subcategory's other, geographically organized groups: Giimbiyu and Minkin, each described in its own live entity-description as a possible language isolate; Ngura, a disputed and possibly spurious ethnic and language designation; and three broad umbrella or superfamily entities, Pama-Nyungan itself, Macro-Pama-Nyungan and Southwest Pama-Nyungan (Nyungic), together with Australian Aboriginal languages, the family-wide umbrella entity covering the whole of this subcategory rather than any one branch of it. A member placed here is disclosed as an isolate, a disputed proposal, or a meta-level entity describing the classification itself, rather than assigned to a regional group it does not truly belong to.
