The Germanic branch of Indo-European includes English, German, Dutch and the Scandinavian languages, along with the extinct East Germanic languages such as Gothic, and is conventionally divided into North Germanic, the Scandinavian languages, West Germanic, English, German, Dutch, Frisian and their relatives, and the extinct East Germanic branch. This child group, under Indo-European Branches, holds every Eurasian Language Families member whose sourced description identifies it as Germanic or as a named branch or sub-branch within Germanic: North, West, East, Anglo-Frisian, Low and High German among them.
