Armeno-Phrygian is the name used for a hypothetical branch of the Indo-European language family that would unite the languages of the Phrygians and the Armenians, proposed by scholars including Igor Diakonoff as a branch of, or sub-branch within, the broader proposed Graeco-Armeno-Aryan or Armeno-Aryan groupings. Under the hypothesis Proto-Armenian is held to descend from a common ancestor with Phrygian and to be closely related to it, with the two peoples associated with the Caucasus and Anatolia.
