The North Bougainville languages, also called the West Bougainville languages, are a small family of Papuan languages spoken on the island of Bougainville in Papua New Guinea, comprising four languages spoken by roughly 9,000 people combined, divided into the Keriaka, Konua and Askopan-Rotokas branches. Stephen Wurm once proposed grouping them into a wider East Papuan family, but that classification is no longer considered tenable and was abandoned by Ethnologue in 2009.
