The finer grouping layer beneath this atlas's five driver type categories, forty three live entities strong as of this wave: twenty two family groupings under Languages, six under Scripts, six under Language Families, five under Dialects and Varieties, and four under Linguists. A subcategory exists so a category holding hundreds of entities, or in language family's case several hundred, can still be browsed as a set of human sized groups rather than one long flat list, and each carries its own prose explaining what belongs in it and what does not.
