The Ngayarda languages are a group of closely related languages within the Pama-Nyungan family, spoken in the Pilbara region of Western Australia, and take their name from the word for man shared across much of the group. The family comprises ten languages, Martuthunira, Ngarluma-Kariyarra, Yindjibarndi-Kurrama, Panyjima, Jurruru, Nyamal, Yinhawangka, Ngarla, Nhuwala and Palyku, though Yindjibarndi-Kurrama and Ngarluma-Kariyarra may each be dialect pairs rather than genuinely separate languages, and Yinhawangka, Nhuwala and Ngarla are grouped in provisionally for lack of sufficient data.
