Thalanyji is a Pama-Nyungan language of the Kanyara branch of the Kanyara-Mantharta group, traditionally spoken in the southern Pilbara region of Western Australia along the coast and inland between the Gascoyne and Ashburton rivers. Binigura, also spelled Pinikura, is documented as a variety of Thalanyji within this same Kanyara pairing, alongside the separately extinct Pinikura language proper. Together with Burduna and Bayungu, Thalanyji forms one of the two closely related language pairs that make up the Kanyara branch.
