Burduna is a Pama-Nyungan language of the Kanyara branch of the Kanyara-Mantharta group, traditionally spoken in the southern Pilbara region of Western Australia between the mouths of the Gascoyne and Ashburton rivers. Bayungu, also called Payungu, is documented as a variety of Burduna within this same Kanyara pairing. The Kanyara languages take their family name, like the neighboring Ngayarda group's own name, from the local word for man.
