Iwaidja is the namesake language of the Iwaidjan family, historically spoken from the base of the Cobourg Peninsula and now centered on Croker Island in the Northern Territory, Australia. The 2021 census recorded 154 native speakers plus an estimated 20 to 30 second-language speakers, and children are still learning it, though many speakers are shifting to English or to the related language Kuninjku.
