The Mabuso languages are a small family of closely related languages in New Guinea. Arthur Capell linked the family with the Rai Coast languages in 1951 as part of his broader Madang family, which Stephen Wurm included within his Trans-New Guinea phylum in 1975. Malcolm Ross reconstructed the pronouns of proto-Mabuso and noted that the integrity of the Mabuso group is, in his words, fairly obvious.
